ISLAMABAD, Aug 01 (APP):The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday served notices to respo
ndents, including the Attorney General for Pakistan in a case pertaining to amendments in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) law.
Chief Justice Aamer Farooq, who heard the case, removed the objections of Registrar Office on the petition.
The petitioner’s lawyer adopted the stance that the remand period in the amendment had been increased from 14 to 40 days, while the punishment for the officer for making a case based on dishonesty was decreased from five years jail term to two years.
The amendment had not been presented in the Parliament, he said, praying the
court to set aside the ordinance.
