ISLAMABAD, Jul 10 (APP):In a significant move to reclaim public spaces, Islamabad’s Acting Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Rana Waqas chaired a meeting on Wednesday focused on the ongoing anti-encroachment oper
ations in the city.
Business leaders from various sectors attended the meeting, along with the A
dditional Deputy Commissioner and other senior officials, said the spokesman of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration.
During the meeting, officials provided updates on the oper
ations targeting illegal structures.
The anti-encroachment oper
ations have been carried out in multiple areas, including D-12, the I-8 Markaz, IJP Road, G-12, Lehtadar Road, Khanna Pul, and G-11 Markaz.
The business community voiced their concerns about the impact of these oper
ations on their activities. In response, the acting DC reassured them, addressing their reserv
ations and emphasizing the importance of the campaign.
The acting DC stated that the anti-encroachment drive would continue across Islamabad.
He highlighted the need to clear these illegal structures to restore the city’s charm and called for coop
eration from all residents and business owners in these efforts.
